Moms' Time Notes - November 9, 2012

Announcements: Christine R.

·         American Heritage Day is this Friday, November 16.

o   There will be no nursery care. You can bring your young children with you. Just make sure that they are not running around or touching the projects.

o   The start time will be 8:30.  Please make sure to arrive early so that you can help the children set up.

o   Be in the chapel by 9:00.

o   There will be no Grace Grille.

·         The week after American Heritage Day, November 23, will be Thanksgiving week, so there will be no PSP.

·         The week after Thanksgiving, November 30, will be Junior Camp.

o   If your child is going to Junior Camp, his or her work still needs to be turned in on that day (November 30).  Do not get behind on the homework during the break from PSP.

o   If you are nervous about sending your child to J. Camp, talk to Brian R. He has a sixth grade boys’ cabin.

·         Make sure you are doing the homework as assigned.  Have an assignment sheet in the front of your child’s notebook so he can record the homework for that week.

·         If your child says he has no homework, take that time to have him review his notes, work, and previous tests. Tests are often cumulative, so review is important.

·         Make sure you are sitting down with your children and helping them with their work throughout the week. When your child is confused, call or e-mail the teacher.

·         If you have pictures from PSP events, Lisa A. is accepting pictures! Bring your memory card to share with her.

Field Trip Announcements: Susan O.

·         If you decide to sign up for any of the field trips next week, your payment will be due as well.

·         If you are considering signing up for Sacramento and have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask Susan.

·         Some things to consider regarding the Sacramento field trip are:

o   It will be a walking field trip

o   You will be making your own hotel reservations at the Vagabond ($82 per night plus tax)

o   It is $32 per person for the train

o   You will need to drive to Bakersfield to take the train

o   You will need to purchase lunches and dinners on the field trip.
